EV Power Systems, Inc. (“EVPS”) designs, sells, and services hybrid and all-electric vehicle power systems.  EVPS’ founders apply extensive experience from the automotive and commercial fleet industries to develop innovative, electric-drive system solutions.

Our Solution

EVPS has taken proven components, applied in an innovative way, to create an electric-drive system powerful enough to move trucks.  This technology can be applied to develop both all-electric and hybrid vehicles.  Products

Using this technology, EVPS has developed, tested and is taking orders for a commercial retrofit plug-in hybrid-electric drive system designed for trucks.  EVPS retrofits (converts) existing trucks with an affordable, effective, technology-neutral plug-in hybrid-electric drive system that does not require changes to the internal-combustion engine, transmission, vehicle support systems or emissions equipment.

Investment by SC Launch

SC Launch!, an organization dedicated to helping create knowledge-based jobs in South Carolina, invested $200,000 in EV Power Systems.  (Below, EVPS Management team, spouses and Federal Rep Bob Inglis, SC 4th District (far left). 

The EVPS hybrid-electric drive system acts as a “helper” system, assisting – but not replacing – the internal-combustion engine at start-up.  Positioning the hybrid drive components behind the transmission assists with acceleration but does not alter the auto/truck OEM engine control module (ECM), vehicle support systems (HVAC, e.g.) or emissions control equipment.
